lib: introduce CURL_ACCEPT()
To avoid overriding the system symbol `accept`, which is a macro on some
systems (AIX), and thus can't be called via the `(function)` PP trick.

It's also problematic to reset such macro to its original value.

memory: make function overrides work reliably in unity builds
Fixing:
- HTTPS-RR builds with c-ares and Linux MUSL.
- curl-for-win minimal builds with Linux MUSL.

It should fix all other kinds of entaglement between curl's redefintions
of system symbols and system (or 3rd-party) headers sensitive to that.

It also syncs memory override behavior between unity & non-unity builds,
thus reducing build variations.

The idea is to define and declare everything once in `curl_setup.h`,
without overriding any system symbols with curl ones yet. Then, like
before this patch, override them, if necessary, in each source file via
`curl_memory.h` and `memdebug.h`, after including system headers.
To ensure a clean slate with no overrides at the beginning of each
source file, reset all of them unconditionally at the end of
`curl_setup.h`, by including `curl_mem_undef.h`. (This assumes
`curl_setup.h` is always included first, which is already the case
throughout the codebase.)

`curl_mem_undef.h` can also be included explicitly wherever overrides
are causing problems. E.g. in tests which use unity-style builds and
a previously included `curl_memory.h`/`memdebug.h` can be spilling into
other source files.

The simplified role of the two override headers:
- `curl_memory.h`: overrides system memory allocator functions to
libcurl ones, when memory tracing (aka `CURLDEBUG`) is disabled.
- `memdebug.h`: overrides system memory allocator and some other
functions to curl debug functions, when memory tracing is enabled.

Changed made in this patch, step-by-step:
- curl_memory.h: move allocator typedefs and protos to `curl_setup.h`.
- memdebug.h: move `ALLOC_*` macros to `curl_setup.h`.
- memdebug.h: move allocator protos to `curl_setup.h`.
- memdebug.h: move `Curl_safefree()` macro to `curl_setup.h`.
  (it's a regular macro, with a one-time, global, definition.)
- curl_memory.h: move system symbol undefs to a new, separate header:
  `curl_mem_undef.h`.
- curl_setup.h: include `curl_mem_undef.h` at the end, unconditionally,
to reset system symbol macros after each inclusion.
- handle `sclose()` and `fake_sclose()` in `curl_setup.h`. They are not
system symbols, a one-time definition does the job.

Also:
- GHA/linux: enable unity mode for the HTTP-RR c-ares MUSL job.
  Follow-up to 17ab4d62e6 #16413

That said, I'd still find it better to avoid redefining system macros.
To communicate clearly the fact that they are not the original system
calls and they do behave differently. And, it would allow dropping the
undef/redef dance in each source file, and maintaining the logic with
it. The "last #include files should be in this order" comments in each
source would also become unnecessary. Also the trick of using
`(func)` (or interim macros) to call the non-overridden function where
required. This method works for printf and most everything else already.
For `_tcsdup`, socket and fopen functions this could work without
disturbing the codebase much.

memdebug: include in unity batch
Before this patch `memdebug.c` was compiled as a separate source in
unity builds. This was necessary because `memdebug.c` failed to compile
if `memdebug.h` was included before it, in `CURLDEBUG` mode. This patch
fixes this issue and allows to compile `memdebug.c` as part of the unity
source batch. This removes an exception and makes builds perform a notch
better.

- introduce `CURL_SCLOSE()` macro as an immutable synonym of `sclose()`.
- memdebug: replace `sclose()` reference with `CURL_SCLOSE()` to compile
as expected when `sclose()` is overridden by `memdebug.h`.
- memdebug: make it not break when including `memdebug.h` before it in
`CURLDEBUG` mode. Do this by calling low-level functions as
  `(function)`.
- autotools, cmake: drop memdebug exception, include it like any other
source file. This is now possible because `memdebug.c` doesn't break
if `memdebug.h` was included before it, in `CURLDEBUG` builds.
- mk-unity: drop `--exclude` option. No longer used after this patch.
- drop `MEMDEBUG_NODEFINES` macro hack. No longer necessary.

memdebug: revert setting gcc 11+ deallocator attribute
These attributes were causing unexplained warnings while playing with
PR #16738: In `CURLDEBUG` builds with mingw, gcc (14.2.0), and `-O3`,
while building `libcurlu`. `-O3` is required. May be related to having
the `CURLDEBUG` allocators in the same source file as their callers
(unity mode). PR #16738 moves `memdebug.c` into the main unity unit.
Unclear why it doesn't affect `libcurl`.

E.g. CI job `mingw, CM ucrt-x86_64 schannel R TrackMemory` CI job:

It also reproduces in an isolated example.

addrinfo: add curl macro to avoid redefining foreign symbols
Before this patch curl code was redefining `getaddrinfo` and
`freeaddrinfo` system symbols to plug in its debug wrappers. This was
causing pains to avoid applying the redefinitions to system headers
defining these functions, and to the local debug wrappers. Especially
in unity builds. It also required workarounds for systems where these
symbols are already macros.

Introduce curl-namespaced macros for these functions and use them.
This allows to drop all workarounds and makes it work in all envs,
local targets and unity/bundle combinations.

Also drop GHA/windows workaround and use the same unity batch across
all jobs. Follow-up to 29e4eda631 #16272

cmake: allow building tests in unity mode
Makes building tests noticeably faster.

Apply changes/fixes/workarounds to make Unity work:
- rename test variables to avoid collisions or shadowing each other when
  combined into single units.
- add workaround to avoid applying `lib/memdebug.h` overrides to system
  headers declaring/defining `getaddrinfo()`/`freeaddrinfo()` for
`tests/server/resolve.c`. This replaces a previous workaround that
  worked for that specific source.
- rename test macro `CTRL` clashing with Cygwin `sys/ioctl.h`.
- add include guard to `test.h`.

Also:
- exclude `tests/http/clients` which are all single-source. (like
  `docs/examples`.)

Build time improvements for tests:
- AppVeyor CI:
  - MSVC 2008, 2010: 1 minute faster (4m8s -> 2m56s, 3m19s -> 2m24s)

Enable new recommended warnings (except `-Wsign-conversion`):

- enable `-Wformat=2` for clang (in both cmake and autotools).
- add `CURL_PRINTF()` internal attribute and mark functions accepting
printf arguments with it. This is a copy of existing
`CURL_TEMP_PRINTF()` but using `__printf__` to make it compatible
  with redefinting the `printf` symbol:
  https://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gcc-3.0.4/gcc_5.html#SEC94

- lib/curl_trc.h: use `CURL_FORMAT()`, this also fixes it to enable format
checks. Previously it was always disabled due to the internal `printf`
  macro.

Fix them:

- fix bug where an `set_ipv6_v6only()` call was missed in builds with
  `--disable-verbose` / `CURL_DISABLE_VERBOSE_STRINGS=ON`.
- add internal `FALLTHROUGH()` macro.
- replace obsolete fall-through comments with `FALLTHROUGH()`.
- fix fallthrough markups: Delete redundant ones (showing up as
warnings in most cases). Add missing ones. Fix indentation.
- silence `-Wformat-nonliteral` warnings with llvm/clang.
- fix one `-Wformat-nonliteral` warning.
- fix new `-Wformat` and `-Wformat-security` warnings.
- fix `CURL_FORMAT_SOCKET_T` value for mingw-w64. Also move its
definition to `lib/curl_setup.h` allowing use in `tests/server`.
- lib: fix two wrongly passed string arguments in log outputs.

windows: use built-in _WIN32 macro to detect Windows
Windows compilers define `_WIN32` automatically. Windows SDK headers
or build env defines `WIN32`, or we have to take care of it. The
agreement seems to be that `_WIN32` is the preferred practice here.
Make the source code rely on that to detect we're building for Windows.

Public `curl.h` was using `WIN32`, `__WIN32__` and `CURL_WIN32` for
Windows detection, next to the official `_WIN32`. After this patch it
only uses `_WIN32` for this. Also, make it stop defining `CURL_WIN32`.

There is a slight chance these break compatibility with Windows
compilers that fail to define `_WIN32`. I'm not aware of any obsolete
or modern compiler affected, but in case there is one, one possible
solution is to define this macro manually.

grepping for `WIN32` remains useful to discover Windows-specific code.

Also:

- extend `checksrc` to ensure we're not using `WIN32` anymore.

- apply minor formatting here and there.

- delete unnecessary checks for `!MSDOS` when `_WIN32` is present.

We have various macros that cause 0 or 1 to be evaluated, which would
cause warning C4127 in Visual Studio. For example this causes it:

    #define Curl_resolver_asynch() 1

Full behavior is not clearly defined and inconsistent across versions.
However it is documented that since VS 2015 Update 3 Microsoft has
addressed this somewhat but not entirely, not warning on while(true) for
example.

Prior to this change some C4127 warnings occurred when I built with
Visual Studio using the generated projects in the projects dir.

63b5378a61 memdebug.h: remove inclusion of other headers
Mostly because they're not needed, because memdebug.h is always included
last of all headers so the others already included the correct ones.

But also, starting now we don't want this to accidentally include any
system headers, as the header included _before_ this header may add
defines and other fun stuff that we won't want used in system includes.

e1b6b2219d lwip: Fix compatibility issues with later versions
The name of the header guard in lwIP's <lwip/opt.h> has changed from
'__LWIP_OPT_H__' to 'LWIP_HDR_OPT_H' (bug #35874 in May 2015).

Other fixes:

- In curl_setup.h, the problem with an old PSDK doesn't apply if lwIP is
used.

- In memdebug.h, the 'socket' should be undefined first due to lwIP's
lwip_socket() macro.

- In curl_addrinfo.c lwIP's getaddrinfo() + freeaddrinfo() macros need
special handling because they were undef'ed in memdebug.h.

- In select.c we can't use preprocessor conditionals inside select if
MSVC and select is a macro, as it is with lwIP.

0f4a03cbb6 free: instead of Curl_safefree()
Since we just started make use of free(NULL) in order to simplify code,
this change takes it a step further and:

- converts lots of Curl_safefree() calls to good old free()
- makes Curl_safefree() not check the pointer before free()

The (new) rule of thumb is: if you really want a function call that
frees a pointer and then assigns it to NULL, then use Curl_safefree().
But we will prefer just using free() from now on.

90695fb2c5 Reinstate "WIN32 MemoryTracking: track wcsdup() _wcsdup() and _tcsdup() usage".
This reverts commit 7ed25cc, reinstating commit 8ec2cb5.

As of 18-jul-2013 we still do have code in libcurl that makes use of these
memory functions. Commit 8ec2cb5 comment still applies and is yet valid.

These memory functions are solely used in Windows builds, so all related
code is protected with '#ifdef WIN32' preprocessor conditional compilation
directives.

Specifically, wcsdup() _wcsdup() are used when building a Windows target with
UNICODE and USE_WINDOWS_SSPI preprocessor symbols defined. This is the case
when building a Windows UNICODE target with Windows native SSL/TLS support
enabled.

Realizing that wcsdup() _wcsdup() are used is a bit tricky given that usage
of these is hidden behind _tcsdup() which is MS way of dealing with code
that must tolerate UNICODE and non-UNICODE compilation. Additionally, MS
header files and those compatible from other compilers use this preprocessor
conditional compilation directive in order to select at compilation time
whether 'wide' or 'ansi' MS API functions are used.

Without this code, Windows build targets with Windows native SSL/TLS support
enabled and MemoryTracking support enabled misbehave in tracking memory usage,
regardless of being a UNICODE enabled build or not.

7ed25ccf0d Revert "WIN32 MemoryTracking: track wcsdup() _wcsdup() and _tcsdup() usage"
This reverts commit 8ec2cb5544.

We don't have any code anywhere in libcurl (or the curl tool) that use
wcsdup so there's no such memory use to track. It seems to cause mild
problems with the Borland compiler though that we may avoid by reverting
this change again.

8ec2cb5544 WIN32 MemoryTracking: track wcsdup() _wcsdup() and _tcsdup() usage
As of 25-mar-2013 wcsdup() _wcsdup() and _tcsdup() are only used in
WIN32 specific code, so tracking of these has not been extended for
other build targets. Without this fix, memory tracking system on
WIN32 builds, when using these functions, would provide misleading
results.

In order to properly extend this support for all targets curl.h
would have to define curl_wcsdup_callback prototype and consequently
wchar_t should be visible before that in curl.h. IOW curl_wchar_t
defined in curlbuild.h and this pulling whatever system header is
required to get wchar_t definition.

Additionally a new curl_global_init_mem() function that also receives
user defined wcsdup() callback would be required.

5a053ffe80 build: fix circular header inclusion with other packages
This commit renames lib/setup.h to lib/curl_setup.h and
renames lib/setup_once.h to lib/curl_setup_once.h.

Removes the need and usage of a header inclusion guard foreign
to libcurl. [1]

Removes the need and presence of an alarming notice we carried
in old setup_once.h [2]

----------------------------------------

1 - lib/setup_once.h used __SETUP_ONCE_H macro as header inclusion guard
up to commit ec691ca3 which changed this to HEADER_CURL_SETUP_ONCE_H,
this single inclusion guard is enough to ensure that inclusion of
lib/setup_once.h done from lib/setup.h is only done once.

Additionally lib/setup.h has always used __SETUP_ONCE_H macro to
protect inclusion of setup_once.h even after commit ec691ca3, this
was to avoid a circular header inclusion triggered when building a
c-ares enabled version with c-ares sources available which also has
a setup_once.h header. Commit ec691ca3 exposes the real nature of
__SETUP_ONCE_H usage in lib/setup.h, it is a header inclusion guard
foreign to libcurl belonging to c-ares's setup_once.h

The renaming this commit does, fixes the circular header inclusion,
and as such removes the need and usage of a header inclusion guard
foreign to libcurl. Macro __SETUP_ONCE_H no longer used in libcurl.

2 - Due to the circular interdependency of old lib/setup_once.h and the
c-ares setup_once.h header, old file lib/setup_once.h has carried
back from 2006 up to now days an alarming and prominent notice about
the need of keeping libcurl's and c-ares's setup_once.h in sync.

Given that this commit fixes the circular interdependency, the need
and presence of mentioned notice is removed.

All mentioned interdependencies come back from now old days when
the c-ares project lived inside a curl subdirectory. This commit
removes last traces of such fact.

Just internal stuff...

Curl_safefree is now a macro defined in memdebug.h instead of a function
prototyped in url.h and implemented in url.c, so inclusion of url.h is no
longer required in order to simply use Curl_safefree.

Provide definition of macro WHILE_FALSE in setup_once.h in order to allow
other macros such as DEBUGF and DEBUGASSERT, and code using it, to compile
without 'conditional expression is constant' warnings.

The WHILE_FALSE stuff fixes 150+ MSVC compiler warnings.
