libcurl vs outside of it by libcurl-using applications (such as the
libtests) and this triggers UndefinedBehaviorSanitizer errors.

Based on #14135, implement TLSv1.3 earlydata support for the curl
command line, libcurl and its implementation in GnuTLS.
If a known TLS session announces early data support, and the feature is
enabled *and* it is not a "connect-only" transfer, delay the TLS
handshake until the first request is being sent.
- Add --tls-earldata as new boolean command line option for curl.
- Add CURLSSLOPT_EARLYDATA to libcurl to enable use of the feature.
- Add CURLINFO_EARLYDATA_SENT_T to libcurl, reporting the amount of
bytes sent and accepted/rejected by the server.
Implementation details:
- store the ALPN protocol selected at the SSL session.
- When reusing the session and enabling earlydata, use exactly
that ALPN protocol for negoptiation with the server. When the
sessions ALPN does not match the connections ALPN, earlydata
will not be enabled.
- Check that the server selected the correct ALPN protocol for
an earlydata connect. If the server does not confirm or reports
something different, the connect fails.
- HTTP/2: delay sending the initial SETTINGS frames during connect,
if not connect-only.
Verification:
- add test_02_32 to verify earlydata GET with nghttpx.
- add test_07_70 to verify earlydata PUT with nghttpx.
- add support in 'hx-download', 'hx-upload' clients for the feature

Suppress deprecation warnings the closest to the deprecated code, using
`CURL_IGNORE_DEPRECATION()`. Then drop build-specific suppressions, and
file-wide ones. The latter is not compatible with Unity mode. Also
replace manual suppressions with a macro to apply to all compilers with
deprecation warning support. Also enable deprecation warnings for clang.
- curl/curl.h: enable deprecation warnings for clang.
- docs/examples: stop setting `CURL_DISABLE_DEPRECATION` with autotools.

Change mingw-w64 printf format checks in public curl headers to use
`__MINGW_PRINTF_FORMAT` instead of `gnu_printf`. This syncs the format
checker with format string macros published via `curl/system.h`. (Also
disable format checks for mingw-w64 older than 3.0.0 (2013-09-20) and
classic-mingw, which do not support this macro.)
This fixes bogus format checker `-Wformat` warnings in 3rd party code
using curl format strings with the curl printf functions, when using
mingw-w64 7.0.0 (2019-11-10) and older (with GCC, MSVCRT).
It also allows to delete two workaounds for this within curl itself:
- setting `-D__USE_MINGW_ANSI_STDIO=1` for mingw-w64 via cmake and
configure for `docs/examples` and `tests/http/clients`.

The format check macro is incompatible (depending on mingw-w64 version
and configuration) with the C99 `%z` (`size_t`) format string used
internally by curl.
To work around this problem, override the format check style in curl
public headers to use `gnu_printf`. This is compatible with `%z` in all
mingw-w64 versions and allows keeping the C99 format strings internally.
Also:
- lib/ws.c: add missing space to an error message.
- docs/examples/ftpgetinfo.c: fix to use standard printf.

Previously this test allowed several error values when setting options.
This made this test miss #14629.
Now, errors are generally not accepted for setopts:
- numerical setopts accept CURLE_BAD_FUNCTION_ARGUMENT for funny input
- the first setopt to an option accepts CURLE_NOT_BUILT_IN or
CURLE_UNKNOWN_OPTION for when they are disabled/not built-in
- there is an allowlist concept for some return code for some variables,
managed at the top of the mk-lib1521.pl script
In curl.h: remove the OBSOLETE named values from the setopt list.

- when used asking for a scheme, it will return CURLUE_NO_SCHEME if the
stored information was a guess
- when used asking for a URL, the URL is returned without a scheme, like
when previously given to the URL parser when it was asked to guess
- as soon as the scheme is set explicitly, it is no longer internally
marked as guessed
The idea being:
1. allow a user to figure out if a URL's scheme was set as a result of
guessing
2. extract the URL without a guessed scheme
3. this makes it work similar to how we already deal with port numbers

`CURLDEBUG` is meant to enable memory tracking, but in a bunch of cases,
it was protecting debug features that were supposed to be guarded with
`DEBUGBUILD`.
Replace these uses with `DEBUGBUILD`.
This leaves `CURLDEBUG` uses solely for its intended purpose: to enable
the memory tracking debug feature.
Also:
- autotools: rely on `DEBUGBUILD` to enable `checksrc`.
Instead of `CURLDEBUG`, which worked in most cases because debug
builds enable `CURLDEBUG` by default, but it's not accurate.
- include `lib/easyif.h` instead of keeping a copy of a declaration.
- add CI test jobs for the build issues discovered.

By default the API inhibits empty queries and fragments extracted.
Unless this new flag is set.
This also makes the behavior more consistent: without it set, zero
length queries and fragments are considered not present in the URL. With
the flag set, they are returned as a zero length strings if they were in
fact present in the URL.
This applies when extracting the individual query and fragment
components and for the full URL.

Returns the time, in microseconds, during which this transfer was held
in a waiting queue before it started "for real". A transfer might be put
in a queue if after getting started, it cannot create a new connection
etc due to set conditions and limits imposed by the application.

A new error code to be used when an internal field grows too large, like
when a dynbuf reaches its maximum. Previously it would return
CURLE_OUT_OF_MEMORY for this, which is highly misleading.

Align mingw with the other Windows compilers and use the `int` type for
`CURL_TYPEOF_CURL_SOCKLEN_T` (and thus for `curl_socklent_t`). This
makes it unnecessary to make a mingw-specific trick and pull all Windows
headers early just for this type definition. This type is specific to
Windows, not to the compiler. mingw-w64's Windows header maps it to
`int` too.
With this we also delete all remaining uses of `CURL_PULL_WS2TCPIP_H`.
[ The official solution is to use `socklen_t` for all Windows compilers.
In this case we may want to update `curl/curl.h` to pull in Windows
headers before `system.h`. ]

- lib/curl_trc.h: use `CURL_FORMAT()`, this also fixes it to enable format
checks. Previously it was always disabled due to the internal `printf`
macro.

- fix bug where an `set_ipv6_v6only()` call was missed in builds with
`--disable-verbose` / `CURL_DISABLE_VERBOSE_STRINGS=ON`.
- add internal `FALLTHROUGH()` macro.
- replace obsolete fall-through comments with `FALLTHROUGH()`.
- fix fallthrough markups: Delete redundant ones (showing up as
warnings in most cases). Add missing ones. Fix indentation.
- silence `-Wformat-nonliteral` warnings with llvm/clang.

Windows compilers define `_WIN32` automatically. Windows SDK headers
or build env defines `WIN32`, or we have to take care of it. The
agreement seems to be that `_WIN32` is the preferred practice here.
Make the source code rely on that to detect we're building for Windows.
Public `curl.h` was using `WIN32`, `__WIN32__` and `CURL_WIN32` for
Windows detection, next to the official `_WIN32`. After this patch it
only uses `_WIN32` for this. Also, make it stop defining `CURL_WIN32`.
There is a slight chance these break compatibility with Windows
compilers that fail to define `_WIN32`. I'm not aware of any obsolete
or modern compiler affected, but in case there is one, one possible
solution is to define this macro manually.
grepping for `WIN32` remains useful to discover Windows-specific code.
Also:
- extend `checksrc` to ensure we're not using `WIN32` anymore.
- apply minor formatting here and there.
- delete unnecessary checks for `!MSDOS` when `_WIN32` is present.

HP-UX on IA64 provides two modes: 32 and 64 bit while 32 bit being the
default one. Use "long long" in 32 bit mode and just "long" in 64 bit
mode.

We remove support for building curl with gskit.
- This is a niche TLS library, only running on some IBM systems
- no regular curl contributors use this backend
- no CI builds use or verify this backend
- gskit, or the curl adaption for it, lacks many modern TLS features
making it an inferior solution
- build breakages in this code take weeks or more to get detected
- fixing gskit code is mostly done "flying blind"
This removal has been advertized in DEPRECATED in Jan 2, 2023 and it has
been mentioned on the curl-library mailing list.
It could be brought back, this is not a ban. Given proper effort and
will, gskit support is welcome back into the curl TLS backend family.

The public 'curl_fileinfo' struct contained three fields that are for
internal purposes only. This change makes them unused in the public
struct.
The new private struct fields are also renamed to make this separation
more obvious internally.

Prior to this change the OS400 types were only defined when __ILEC400__.
That symbol is only defined by IBM's C compiler and not their C++
compiler, which led to missing types when users on OS400 would compile a
C++ application that included curl.
The IBM C and C++ compilers are the only native compilers on the
platform.

As expressions can have side effects, evaluate only once.
To enable deprecation reporting only once, get rid of the __typeof__
use to define the local temporary variable and use the target type
(CURLoption/CURLINFO). This also avoids multiple reports on type
conflicts (if some) by the curlcheck_* macros.
Note that CURLOPT_* and CURLINFO_* symbols may be deprecated, but not
their values: a curl_easy_setopt call with an integer constant as option
will never report a deprecation.

Change "__MWERKS__" to "macintosh". When this block was originally added
in 3ac6929 it was probably intended to handle classic Mac OS since the
previous classic Mac OS build procedure for curl (which was removed in
bf327a9) used Metrowerks CodeWarrior.
But there are other classic Mac OS compilers, such as the MPW compilers,
that were not handled by this case. For classic Mac OS,
CURL_TYPEOF_CURL_SOCKLEN_T needs to match what's provided by the
third-party GUSI library, which does not vary by compiler.
Meanwhile CodeWarrior works on platforms other than classic Mac OS, and
they may need different definitions. Separate blocks could be added
later for any of those platforms that curl doesn't already support.

Add a deprecated attribute to functions and enum values that should not
be used anymore.
This uses a gcc 4.3 dialect, thus is only available for this version of
gcc and newer. Note that the _Pragma() keyword is introduced by C99, but
is available as part of the gcc dialect even when compiling in C89 mode.
It is still possible to disable deprecation at a calling module compile
time by defining CURL_DISABLE_DEPRECATION.
Gcc type checking macros are made aware of possible deprecations.
Some testing support Perl programs are adapted to the extended
declaration syntax.
Several test and unit test C programs intentionally use deprecated
functions/options and are annotated to not generate a warning.
New test 1222 checks the deprecation status in doc and header files.

Field feature_names contains a null-terminated sorted array of feature
names. Bitmask field features is deprecated.
Documentation is updated. Test 1177 and tests/version-scan.pl updated to
match new documentation format and extended to check feature names too.

Prior to this change if the user wanted to signal an error from their
write callbacks they would have to use logic to return a value different
from the number of bytes (nmemb) passed to the callback. Also, the
inclination of some users has been to just return 0 to signal error,
which is incorrect as that may be the number of bytes passed to the
callback.
To remedy this the user can now return CURL_WRITEFUNC_ERROR instead.

curl_ws_recv() now receives data to fill up the provided buffer, but can
return a partial fragment. The function now also get a pointer to a
curl_ws_frame struct with metadata that also mentions the offset and
total size of the fragment (of which you might be receiving a smaller
piece). This way, large incoming fragments will be "streamed" to the
application. When the curl_ws_frame struct field 'bytesleft' is 0, the
final fragment piece has been delivered.
curl_ws_recv() was also adjusted to work with a buffer size smaller than
the fragment size. (Possibly needless to say as the fragment size can
now be 63 bit large).
curl_ws_send() now supports sending a piece of a fragment, in a
streaming manner, in addition to sending the entire fragment in a single
call if it is small enough. To send a huge fragment, curl_ws_send() can
be used to send it in many small calls by first telling libcurl about
the total expected fragment size, and then send the payload in N number
of separate invokes and libcurl will stream those over the wire.
The struct curl_ws_meta() returns is now called 'curl_ws_frame' and it
has been extended with two new fields: *offset* and *bytesleft*. To help
describe the passed on data chunk when a fragment is delivered in many
smaller pieces.
The documentation has been updated accordingly.

Starting now, CURLOPT_FTP_RESPONSE_TIMEOUT is the alias instead of the
other way around.
Since 7.20.0, CURLOPT_SERVER_RESPONSE_TIMEOUT has existed as an alias
but since the option is for more protocols than FTP the more "correct"
version of the option is the "server" one so now we switch.

Referring to Daniel's article [1], making the init function thread-safe
was the last bit to make libcurl thread-safe as a whole. So the name of
the feature may as well be the more concise 'threadsafe', also telling
the story that libcurl is now fully thread-safe, not just its init
function. Chances are high that libcurl wants to remain so in the
future, so there is little likelihood of ever needing any other distinct
`threadsafe-<name>` feature flags.
For consistency we also shorten `CURL_VERSION_THREADSAFE_INIT` to
`CURL_VERSION_THREADSAFE`, update its description and reference libcurl's
thread safety documentation.
