- codespell: break logic out into its own runnable script. Allowing
to run it on local machines.
- codespell: install via `pip`, bump to latest version.
- codespell: show version number in CI log.
- codespell: drop no longer needed word exception: `msdos`.
- codespell: include all curl source tree, except `packages` and
`winbuild`. Drop an obsolete file exclusion.
- add new spellchecker job using the `typos` tool. It includes
the codespell dictionary and a couple more. Use linuxbrew to install
it. This takes 10 seconds, while installing via `cargo` from source
would take over a minute.
- codespell: introduce an inline ignore filter compatible with `cspell`
Make `typos` recognize it, too. Move single exceptions inline.
Fix new typos found. Also rename variables and words to keep
spellchecking exceptions at minumum. This involves touching some tests.
Also switch base64 strings to `%b64[]` to avoid false positives.

Current test for curl_free() may produce warnings with strict compiler
flags or even with default compiler flags with upcoming versions.
These warning could turned into errors by -Werror or similar flags.
Such warnings/errors are avoided by this patch.

Add licensing and copyright information for all files in this repository. This
either happens in the file itself as a comment header or in the file
`.reuse/dep5`.
This commit also adds a Github workflow to check pull requests and adapts
copyright.pl to the changes.

The invocation of autoconf's AC_PATH_PROG( ) is not quite right for
finding curl-config. This fix corrects the negative case (where
curl-config is not found).
The macro provides a --with-libcurl option that expects a PREFIX to be
specified and not actually a "directory" in which libcurl will be found.
This now spells that out more clearly.

autotools project, which optionally (default=yes) uses libcurl on a system
without a (usable) libcurl installation, but not specifying
`--without-libcurl', configure determines correctly that no libcurl is
available, however, the LIBCURL variable gets expanded to `LIBCURL = -lcurl'
in the resulting Makefiles.
David Shaw fixed the flaw.
the latest features and protocols that libcurl supports and has a minor fix to
better deal with the obscure case where someone has more than one libcurl
installed at the same time.
It now properly handles code that uses curl_free() (since not all versions of
curl have it), and also fixes a few problems when detecting libcurl on MinGW,
and a linker problem on OSX Panther.
